Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Riffle desktop app and the website at riffle.fm, provided by Shmuel Duan, an individual based in Israel ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Riffle, you agree to these terms.
The service
Riffle is a local-first desktop application for macOS and Windows that makes your own recordings findable by sound. Analysis and search run on your device.
Your license to use Riffle
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Riffle on the number of devices included in your plan. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, rent, or reverse-engineer the software except to the extent the law expressly allows.
Subscriptions, trial, and billing
- Riffle Pro is $4.99 per month and covers up to 3 devices.
- A 14-day free trial is available with just an email — no credit card. The trial covers 1 device.
- Billing is handled by Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record. Your purchase is also subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms.
- Paid subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the period you've paid for.
- Prices may change in the future; any change applies to future billing periods, not the current one, and we'll give reasonable notice.
Your work stays yours
Your recordings, library, and any data Riffle derives from them remain on your device and remain yours. We have no access to them. If your subscription lapses, Riffle gates premium features but never locks your own files or library.
Acceptable use
Use Riffle lawfully. Don't use it to infringe others' rights, attempt to break or circumvent the software's licensing, or interfere with the service or other users.
Intellectual property
The Riffle name, branding, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. These terms don't transfer any ownership of the software to you.
Disclaimer of warranties
Riffle is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Search returns best-effort candidates, not guaranteed results.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using Riffle and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of Israel will have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes
We may update these terms; we'll update the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, note them on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
